Blowholes are a phenomenal , rare geological landform. They

shoot out amazing bolts of water and air. They are a very famous
tourist attraction across the globe. These amazing wonders are
often referred to as sea caves and
are commonly found in Hawaii,
but how are these exceptional
phenomenons formed?

One way blowholes are formed is

Thousands of years ago
volcanoes lava flowed into the
ocean. The molten lava tubes
from volcanic eruptions that
occurred thousands of years ago
formed the natural occurrence
known as the Blowhole. The lava
tubes stretch into the ocean which are very narrow at the top and
when the tide is just right, the mighty blowhole can shoot water
and air up to thirty feet high in the air.
Blowholes are also formed by erosion. Continuous pounding
waves on the roof of the cave forms a sort of chimney. Eventually
this breaks through the surface of the ground near the edge of a
cliff. At high tide, waves force water out of the top of the
blowhole.

Another way blowholes can be formed is when The seabed is

raised above sea level by earthquakes. This is an example of
what happened in Punakaiki in the west coast. The sea, wind and
rain have eroded the soft layers to form the unusual rock
formations we see today.
When conditions are right, heavy ocean tides bolt into the
caverns beneath the rocks and huge waterspouts blast to the sky
through the blowholes. It truly is a spectacular sight.
Blowholes definitely make the list of the top ten most amazing
landforms known to mankind. Blowholes are exceptional as long
as they appreciated sensibly as many people have died by
disobeying signs and rules that are towards the blowholes. There
are many ways that blowholes can be formed but these are the 3
most significant ways blowholes are formed erosion ,volcanic
eruptions and when the seabed is risen.
have them today.
