4. Continued AnalysisBeverages have calories; what types of beverages is your patient consuming regularly? It is
essential that the patient stay hydrated. Explain why this contributes to a healthy diet: Our
patient is consuming a Pepsi and 2 sports drinks a day. Staying hydrated will make your
body still function properly. If dehydrated, our patient can die with the amount hes eating
without fluids.
If your patients calorie total was greater than + or - 90 calories from the RDA, explain what
consequences this will have for the patient:
The more calories our patient has, the harder it
will be to burn them off, and the rest will turn into fat and that fat can cause other medical
problems.

Compare and contrast LDL and HDL cholesterol measurements. Look at your patients
Triglyceride, HDL and LDL measurements. If your patient is outside of the recommended
averages for these measurements, what are the implications for his/her health?
A clogged artery can be an effect of high cholesterol levels which can cause heart disease.
What could a patient do to improve their cholesterol numbers? Give multiple suggestions of
factors and actions that could affect cholesterol numbers? Does your patient need to be mindful
of cholesterol? Explain.
Our patient needs to be very mindful of his cholesterol levels and a way to do that is to
check the labels to see if there is a lot of cholesterol in the product or to just cut down on
the fat. Both of these can decrease the amount of cholesterol by a lot.
How can a patient increase their fiber intake?
He can start eating a lot of beans. Theyre healthy and contain a lot of
fiber.
