Circulars, if any) Allcandidates who have passed H.S. or Equivalent Examination (with pass in English having full marks being not less than 100) in the Years 2011 & onwards are elligible to apply for admission to the 1st Year of the 3-Year B.A./ B.Sc. (Pure) / B.Sc. (Bio) / B.Com. Degree Courses (Honours/General). Candidates passing H.S. / Equivalent Examinations before 2011 are not elligible to apply for Admission, For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Honours course, aggregate Marks , obtained at the pre- qualifying Examination, shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks, secured by a ‘candidate. However, marks in Compulsory Environmental Education / Studies shall not be taken in to account for Calculation of aggregate marks (ifthe subject “Environmental Science" is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, i may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks). 1. Acandidate willing to take up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained: i) A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination or i) Aminimum of 55% marks in the subject or related subject atthe previous qualifying examination. or il) Aminimum of 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his /her previous qualifying examination provided all the other clauses are satisfied (ie. musthave passed inthe related subject.) AND thathis /hername comesiin the meritlist prepared for the purpose. |. However, a candidate belonging to the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes community willing to take up Honours ‘course in a subject must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the subject orthe related subject or in the aggregate atthe previous qualifying examination, as the case may be, AND thathis /her name comes in the meritlist prepared for the purpose. ‘A candidate shall be allowed to take up the subject(s) under heading A if he / she had passed the subject(s) under heading B at the previous qualifying examination. —=T k= Commerce Accountancy, or Business Economics including Business Mathematics, or Business Organisation, or Mathematics, or Economics, or Statistics Mathematics Mathematics Physics Physics and Mathematics Chemistry Chemistry Zoology Zoology or Biological Sciences, Physics and Chemistry Botany Botany or Biological Sciences, Physics and Chemistry Physiology Physiology or Biological Sciences, Physics and Chemistry Computer Science Mathematics and Physics /Statistics example , a candidate is not allowed to take up Mathematics as an elective subject if he /she takes Mathematics as an Honours subject. Approval of provisional admissions are subject to fulfilment of conditions laid down by the Calcutta University and the College. ‘Admissions are liable to cancellation if, at any stage, after admission itis found that the conditions or requirements for the same as laid down by the College and / of Calcutta University are not satisfied. |. Admission will be strictly on merit. However, there shall be usual relaxation or reservation for SC / ST and OBC candidates as per Government Rules. For any ambiguity, contact Prof. Subhankar Kumar Sarkar, Convenor, Admission Sub-Committee, Simultaneous admission in more than one institution in any session is against the Rules and Regulations of Calcutta University. If, after getting admission in the College, a candidate wants to change over to any otherinstitution(s), he / she must seek prior permission in writing from the Principal. Otherwise, ifthe candidate dose nothave necessary permission from the Principal to that effect the matter may be referred to the authority of Calcutta University as well as to the Principal / Teacher-in-charge of the other institution(s) where he / she has taken admission, for taking necessary (legal) action. Under such circumstances, his /her admission inall institution(s) s liable to be cancelled.
