The Literature Review

Literature review in this sense
means the work you you consulted in
order to understand and investigate
your research problem
It looks at what others have said
about the topic
How do theories address the topic?
What previous research exists?

Data Collection Sources

Here you will fully describe the
sources you used to collect data
The method you used must be
clearly explained
You should therefore be familiar with
the different of data
Also the different types of research
and the differences between
quantitative and qualitative research

The Research Proposal

This basically tells me how you
will approach the project and it
acts as a guide to you in the
actual conduct of the research

The Proposal
It should be structured into 3
chapters
Chapter 1-background to the
problem, problem statement,
delimitation, definition of terms
Chapter 2-Literature Review
Chapter 3- Research methodology
and plan for data analysis AND THE
INSTRUMENT YOU WILL USE

The Data Collection

Instrument
This is the actual instrument which
you will use to collect data
This must be completed and
presented in your proposal
If you plan to conduct an interview,
the questions must be written up in
an interview schedule
Once you have received the OK from
your teacher you may go ahead and
administer the instruments

NB.
When you hand in the proposal it should
set out clearly what you intend to do
Once you have moved past the proposal
stage, the tense in your report or
subsequent submissions must change
