    Allegro Announces Candidacy for NY 98th Assembly District


    New York State government is in the midst of a crisis of confidence. We read too many news stories from
    Albany about:

    Political dysfunction and partisan bickering


    Elected officials being indicted and convicted for ethics violations
    Members of the political establishment catering to special interests who hide behind LLCs

    Too many times politics takes precedence over fair and transparent representation of the people of our
    great state.
    We, the people of the 98th Assembly District have had enough. Since the Kiryas Joel annexation petition
    landed in 2013, we received little more than lip service from our state assemblyman, Karl Brabenec.
    Mr. Brabenec, who received the support of the Kiryas Joel Anash bloc vote in the 2014 Republican
    primary, did just enough, just in time to show us that we have a "friend" in Albany only after he did not
    receive the Anash votes in the general election. His 2015 Orange County annexation bill was amateurish
    and dead on arrival. He was invisible on the issues concerning the environmental devastation that
    irresponsible developers are causing in our region.
    We watched as Assemblyman Brabenec played both sides of the fence throughout his freshman term. A safe
    stance on the "annexation hot potato" in Monroe. A "no" vote to state oversight in the East Ramapo School
    District - while Kiryas Joel Power Elite (KJPE) leader Gedalye Szegedin openly threatened the existence of
    the Monroe-Woodbury and Washingtonville School districts.
    Its time for us to show Albany that the days of political opportunism are over in the 98th Assembly District.
    We need a strong voice in the capital who will stand up to the establishment and fight the real battles that
    concern our district and our people.

    Today I am announcing that I am a Candidate for the New York State Assemblys 98th District. I will take on
    the incumbent assembly member in the Republican primary on September 13, 2016. I will also seek the
    endorsement and candidacy for United Monroes independent party line. I believe that we need a
    representative that isnt interested in political advancement, only in serving you. I believe that we need a
    representative that isnt hoping to ride out the tide, but one who in fact wants to make waves. We deserve
    to be heard. We deserve a Strong Voice. Please help me to be your voice in Albany.
