These forms of energy can be transferred and transformed between one another.
APPLICATION:
Conventional Electric Cranes use Squirrel Caged Induction brake motors to lift and move loads.
Electrical Energy is consumed to raise the load, converting to Kinetic and Potential energy. At height,
as the load is lowered, the potential energy is converted to electrical energy and converted to heat
energy. The heat energy is then wasted through motor temperature rise and cooling fin heating.
PLANET Technology maintains the electrical energy as electrical energy but returns it to the power grid
instead of waste heat.

Standard Cranes consume electrical power when:

accelerating in traverse and travel.

fitted with HYPERSPEED and/or i-GLIDE.

and/or i-GLIDE uses Variable Speed Drive Technology connecting motors to VSDs and VSDs to brake
resistors.
HYPERSPEED
When lowering and braking, motors become generators. The generated

generated electrical energy is then
discharged to brake resistors converting the electrical energy to

is a technology module fitted to the cranes, between the VSD and the brake resistor. This PLANET
module takes the energy going to the brake resistor and diverts it, returning it to the supply grid.
