Dear Customer,
The examination of servo-controls within the scope of periodic overhauls has revealed the
deterioration of seals due to prolonged aging. In fact, these equipment items are subject to
removal only according to the number of operating hours, which means that some of them
may remain on aircraft for many years.
Thus, in addition to the present TBO in hours, the next editions of the Maintenance
Programs for the helicopter ranges listed above will specify a 20-year calendar TBO
(removal when the first limit is reached).
So that you can schedule any equipment overhauls, an additional deadline of one year,
following receipt of this Service Letter, is granted for all servo-controls that have a TSO of
more than 19 years. You do not need to contact us again to obtain this waiver; however, it
must be approved by your Regulatory Authorities.
