This chapter describes many important features of different kinds of elections. It discusses different funding options,
and the important that money may or may not play in who gets elected. It also discusses how candidates try to make
themselves appealing to large groups of voters—a task more difficult for presidents than Congressmen and more
difficult in general versus primary elections. There are many differences in presidential and congressional
campaigns, the largest being that it is much easier for an incumbent congressman to win than an incumbent
president. There are many different issues that can shape the direction of the election, some of which are more
important than others. Party loyalty is one such issue, but may not always be incredibly important.
