How I wish I could experience Autumn

Take me where the air is crisp

Where the leaves are orange

trying hard to cling on to the trees’ feeble branches

Where the trees weep of dried, reddish leaves

which then eventually let go

fluttering away with the wind

to cover the soft, damp ground

or sink into the icy mirror of a pond

to the chilled water

All the flora & fauna say a long goodnight

to the graying clouds

covering the sky

hiding the sun

getting ready for the long

seemingly endless

beautiful, frozen Winter

Until Spring arrives

to melt the coldness away

And its gentle warmth

wake all in deep slumber
