Avian Influenza

Avian Influenza is one of the biggest pandemic around Asia included Indonesia. This pandemic
also knows as ‘bird flu’. This sickness caused by influenza virus type A subtype H5N1.
The influenza virus divided into 2 clades or 2 classifications. Clade 1 is human and bird isolate
from Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam and bird isolate from Malaysia and Laos. Clade 2 is human and
bird isolate from Indonesia, Japan, China, and South Korea. The 2 nd clade responsible to people death
around Asia. It infects the human and causes the death.
The avian influenza virus becomes so dangerous. It happen because the virus mutate from
danger virus to more danger virus. Because of this process the H5N1 become more deathly than before.
The viruses also grow up fast and spread very easily.
The best place for H5N1 virus is air. Air is the best media for this virus to infect human and
animal because air used by human for breathing. Although the air is dirty human and animal don’t have
any chance to choice which air is good or bad, then they take it all the air for breathing. The virus can
live in the other media like saliva of animal (esp. chickens, ducks, gooses), bloods of animal, and meat.
Through this media, the viruses infect humans and animals.
The impact of Avian Influenza is people death. There are a lot of people die around Asia like
Indonesia, China, etc. The impact also felt by the chicken farmers. The chicken farmers have to burn
their chicken that infected with virus and the producing of eggs also decrease because a lot of chicken
