CHARACTERISTIC FEATURE OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATION

The type of the business of the visited company is Sole Proprietorship

Organization. It is a private ltd company which is coming under the KAR group
Companies. It is one of the first companies to start the manufacturing of genuine
welted shoes in India. It is one of the six units which are currently running under
KAR group of companies. The Company head office for India is located in 29,
College Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai. After two decades of the development of
the company, second generation managers was managing the group, K. Shahid
Mansoor, K. Mohamed Akmal and K. Ehsan Ahmed. The nature of the company
is Manufacturer & Exporters. The company is exporting their products to many
foreign countries like US, Japan, Germany, Italy and so on.

SOFTWARES USED

The software’s used for Database Management & Payroll Management are
Tally, Customized software & WinSale which provides inventory control solution.

ROLE OF MANAGER

The role of manager and supervisor in the production department is

provided below. The supervisor of that company manages the entire production
unit. He is the person who monitors the production and quality in their products.
Daily, an average of 500 pair of shoes are produced which was carried out with the
machineries and human help. During the monitoring and verification process of the
shoes, an average of 40-50 shoes was monitored for the perfection and for its
quality by the workers. There are 4 stage inspectors including the Quality inspector
was undergone the analysis of the shoe production and its quality. If there is any
issue regarding that, it will be taken to the supervisor only. He is the person who
fixes those issues. He is the final decision maker in his department (i.e. production
department). Those 4 stage inspectors are working as a problem analyzer. And it is
the responsibility of the supervisor who finally solves the problem which was
analyzed and reported. He is the person who spoke with the workers to solve the
problems in between them in their production team. He is acting like a spokesman
and problem solver.

CONCLUSION

Thus, I’d learnt the characteristic feature and roles of a manager in a

manufacturing industry. And also I learnt that how the managers are handling their
people and their business to give a good result in their business to achieve the goal
of the company.
