ACDC – Handout

General facts
ACDC is the short version of ‘Alternating current/Direct current’ and it’s also known as
‘Acca Dacca’. The band was formed on the 31th December 1973 by Angus and Malcolm
Young. The other actual members are Phil Rudd (drummer), Brian Johnson (singer) and Cliff
Williams. They chose the name ACDC, ‘cause of friend of them saw the abbreviation ACDC
on her sewing machine and thought it would be a good name.

- They sold more than 150 mio sound carriers
- The most known song is ‘Highway to hell’
- They have 20 albums all over the world
- In the USA they had two Number 1 Hits
- Some members wear school uniforms at the concerts
