History
Shooting the ball is a main part of
basketball that involves the
knowledge of some physics. You
must be able to predict the
trajectory of the shot by
calculating in your mind how the
ball will move when you apply
force to it. Trajectory and force are
also a part of passing the force
applied to the ball must be
directed in front of the open
receiver if they’re moving or at
them if they’re still. Newton’s 3rd
law of motion is a key part in
moving the ball across the court,
by this I mean that the ball will
continue in a direction until acting
on by another player or friction,
this is simply inertia.
Basketball is the sport for tall,
strong athletes. Invented in 1891
as a sport played with fruit
baskets at YMCAs it became
popular sport quickly. It was
invented by scientist Dr. James
Naismith who suggested it to local
YMCAs as a game to try. This odd
suggestion soon became a hit
sport around the US. Leagues
began to emerge and start
creating improvements to the
game and its equipment. In 1904
basketball became one of the
events of the summer Olympics.
As the game progressed many
legends emerged out of the blank
whose stats are out of the
ordinary. These include players
like Michal Jordan, LeBron James,
or Magic Johnson.
