Spectral Summer
Spectral Music Performance Workshop

This professional development workshop will offer a unique opportunity for


musicians to acquire expertise in the techniques required for the performance of
spectral music (i.e. microtonal intonation, extended timbral techniques, orchestral
fusion, etc.).

Joshua Fineberg and Stephen Drury will coach participants on the performance
practice of spectral music via the rehearsal and performance of new works by both
Joshua Fineberg and Tristan Murail, along with classics from the spectral repertoire.
The workshop will culminate in the performance of a new work by Joshua Fineberg
along with performances by all workshop participants.

Joshua Fineberg, one of the world’’s Stephen Drury, named 1989 Musician of the
