Pipe and tube manufacturing is the core business of the Borusan Group, @ conglomerate made up of 30 companies spread over eight diferent industries ranging from iron and stee! to automotive spare parts, and construction. ‘These diverse companies all share a common set of guiding principle, which help this vast enterprise to operate in complete harmony. These principles are commitments to productivity, innovation and environmental responsibifty (Ongoing research and development activities are aimed at further improving quality and increasing the product range through use of technology along with original and more cost-effective marketing techniques. A dynamic, highty qualified staf, regulariy trained to keep abreast of new manufacturing ‘and management, ensure that production conforms to exacting quality standards. Borusan-Mannesmann’s water and gas pipes, Fine pipes and casing, industrial and structural tubes, boiler tubes and precision tubing are produced using state ofthe art technology ‘and know-how accumulated over four decades ‘of pipe manufacturing, Production is carried ‘om inthree piants with @ combined capacity ‘of over 650.000 tpy. half of which is exported worldwide, ‘Among Borusa-Mannesmann’s short and Jong term plansis strengthening ofits position in worldwide markets through new opportunities and partnerships, developing Droducts with high added value and enhancing production quality and productivity. Location of Mills = Borusan Mannesmann has three pipe manufacturing plants in Turkey. They are located in Halkall which is in istanbul, Gemlik in Bursa and izmit which are 250 and 95 kilometres respectively from istanbul, BORUSAN MANNESMANN Gemlik Plant: Was founded in 1975. It operates in an area of 614.000 mr, 125 96 of which is covered space, Annual production capacity is 300.000 tpy and consists of pipe production lines, a stretch reducing mill (SRM), galvanizing facts, a finishing line (threading end beveling), siting, palyethylene coating, varnishing, normalizing and various test units. The raw material has a high molecular weight, low crystal, high {temperature stabilization and has higher resistance against temperature and pressure conditions than other similar materials. tis, suitable for conveying cold and hot water as required by applicable standards and various fluids defined in the TS 1448, 1SO 7471 BORUSAN PLASTIC PIPE AND FITTING SYSTEMS ‘The whole range is manufactured in accordance with Turkish Institute of Standards regulations (TSE) and international standards. Borusan Plastic Pipes are certified by the following: DVGW Certificate ‘OVGW Certificate ‘TS 9937 (DIN 8078) TS 1451 (IN 4726-4728) ‘TS 11755 (DIN 16962) In addition to the TSE standards, Borusan Plastic Pipes have the ISO 9001 “Quality Assurance System Certificate”. BORUSAN PLASTIC PIPES; + do not accumulate lime, resist puncture. + provides insulation against electricity, and are areal insulator. They are also chemically inactive, and resistant against acidic or alkaline substances they may contact. They are made of a raw material named PPRC Type 3 whichis a polymer with high chemical resistance which fufills the requirements specified in the TS 11448 standard. + have intemal and external surfaces that re resistant to corrosion. + have internal surfaces that are smooth, homogeneous and nonporous, and do not scale up with the accumulation of foreign substances. + do not allow moss and bacterial growth, + meet the instructions issued by the Turkish Ninistry of Heath, and certified by the Department of Hygiene to be suitable for potable water installations + have a higher linear thermal expansion coefficient than that of the metals. + have operation pressure of 20 bar at 20 °¢ ‘and 10 bar at 65 °C, with a minimum ife of 100 years under suitable conditions. + under normal conditions, can be used for temperatures up to 70-95 °C. They are not water absorbing, and can be used in hot and highiy moist environments + do not emit noise under high flow rates and pressures. + donot need special insulation when they l= come into contact with construction materials such as cement or lime. + are light, so that they can be easily installed and transported. + are economic in terms of labor and time. ~ BORUSAN PLASTIC PIPES ARE RANGING FROM 20 mm to 75 mm are MANUFACTURED WITH THE ASSURANCE AND QUALITY OF BORUSAN, OPERATION REQUIREMENTS Wain values that determine the behavior ofall plastic materials are stated below, Mechanic effect = pressure Heat shock = temperature Resistance to pressure = time The relation between the values stated above is shown on the graphic, USAGE OF THE CURVES ON THE GRAPH After having determined the desired usage time of pipe (€.9:20 years) and the operation temperature (e.g: 80 °C) the intersection point of the vertical line that shows the Usage time and the curve shows the permitted pressure Value (d= sigma) for the temperature. Example: Usage time of pipe = 20years Operation temperature = 80°C ‘Outer ciameter of pipe (0) = 20 mm Wall thickness of pipe (S) = 3.4mm Operation pressure (P) = 2 Operation pressure is calculated with the formula stated below: This result shows the maximum resistance ina given time.
