ile we wore preparing ths issue of Coast Lfesile, the historic Queensland floods and then Cyclone Yasi, brought us stories of tragedy. oy, bravery and viumph. At times it was hard to focus on fashion, fms and the lighter side of ife, while so many, s0 close, were in their darkest hour. What it did do, as painful and challenging tines always do, is tohelp us all to refocus ou prioties. Though we endured epic rain here on the Coast, we were thankfuly spared the flooding. Nevertheless, many a Gold Coaster was atfected ~ whether i was through family and frends, cancelled hospital vist, lost ‘business and just the sheer shock at what we witnessed, The Queensland floods reminded us that indeed, ite is about = that special place we call home, but most imporianly, about Se relationships — with loved ones, our friends and our community.
