WASHINGTON, DC — On April 26 and 27 over 1,500 Catholics will gather for the 7th Annual National
Catholic Prayer Breakfast (NCPB) in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 to hear the
keynote address of His Excellency Bishop William Lori, of the Diocese of Bridgeport, who serves as
the Supreme Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus, and special guest speaker, The Honorable Newt
Gingrich, former Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The theme of this year's breakfast is "Celebrating the Beatification of John Paul the Great", as the
Beatification for the late Holy Father will be celebrated in Rome on May 1.

“We are pleased that Bishop Lori and Speaker Gingrich will be addressing the breakfast this year,”
Leonard Leo, President of the NCPB stated. “This year promises to be a great event for our attendees,
and we are looking forward to hosting these and other dynamic speakers, and screen several short
videos, addressing a number of very timely and interesting topics of interest to Catholics, particularly the
Beatification of Pope John Paul the Great.” Leo added.

Bishop Lori will be speaking on Pope John Paul the Great and his role in the defense of religious
freedom. Speaker Gingrich will discuss Pope John Paul the Great’s historic nine-day pilgrimage to
