Got Cookie?

- Recipe
Ingredients

1 cup (250 ml) shortening (vegetable shortening you can get in baking section of superstore)

1 cup (250 ml) packed brown sugar

1/2 cup (125 ml) granulated a.k.a. refined/white sugar

2 (2) eggs, not separated

1 ½ teaspoons (7 ml) vanilla flavouring (pure taste better but more expensive, but hey, the taste is worth
the price)

2 cups (500 ml) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon (5 ml) baking soda

½ teaspoon (2 ml) salt

2 cups (500 ml) chocolate chips (add accordingly to what you want, the more, the sweeter)

1 cup (250 ml) chopped pecans (optional but I used it, gives a crunch to the chew)

Steps

1. Pre-heat the oven to 375°F (190°C)

2. In a large bowl, beat shortening, brown sugar and white sugar until fluffy as in crunchy but
smooth and sticks to sides of the bowl if using a mixer.
3. Beat in eggs and vanilla until it becomes liquid-like and creamy.
4. In a separate medium sized bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt.
5. Add this to the creamed mixture in small intervals/portions/sections/you get the idea until it
becomes fully mixed yet crumbly.
6. Stir in chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
7. Take a tray for baking, no greasing/cookie sheet/etc is needed and put the cookies on, 1
tablespoon per cookie.
8. Bake for 1-3 minutes for under-baked/aka not cooked dough, 4-5 minutes if you want chewy, 6-
7 minutes for crunchy outside, chewy inside, and 8-10 if you want crunchy and hard cookies,
most likely burnt-ish dark brown.
9. Eat.
