George Washington Carver
When we speak about an educational system we consider a set of rules, subjects,
programs on which is based all the educational system of a country. During the years educational systems of all countries have changed and are still in change. Many of us are perfectly aware that a good educational system is a perfect tool to educate good citizens ,good society and finally a good future for all countries. There are a lot of debates about which educational system is better and how it has to be changed to assure suitable formation for people and to remain valuable during the years. In order to understand better what educational systems are ,their similarities and differences we will analyse two quite different examples. Educational system of USA and the educational system of Republic of Moldova. In both countries there are many similarities .For example children go at kindergartens at age of five, at the age 12 or 13 they begin secondary school. Most primary and secondary education in the USA is public ,the same situation is also in Moldova. There’s a very big difference between American and Moldovan grading system. American system is based on “C” being satisfactory, “B” being good and A being the top grade, ”D” bellow average and “F”- fail. The Moldovan grading system is based on 1 to 10 grades system. There’s also a quite important difference related to compulsory education in USA and in Moldova. For example in USA educational system requires that students must complete 12 years of primary and secondary education but in Moldova just 9 years. After finishing school at the age of 18, teen-ages in both countries decide whether they want to follow their education or whether they want to seek employment.University education in Moldova and in USA is a bit different. Many people who studied in USA and in Moldova think that university educational system in USA gives more practical education than in Moldova. Generally educational system of USA is very respected around the globe because of this it is also very attractive for international students. The most prestigious universities from USA are:Harward,Yale,Priceton,Standford. Among the most respectable universities from Moldova are: The State University of Moldova,The Academy of Economic Studies, Moldova State University of Medicine and Pharmacy „N. Testemitsanu „.
Of course there are differencies between Moldovan and American educational
system .It is thought that one is too liberal and another too conservative. From my point of view both countries have to learn some things form each other. It is wonderful that there are cultural and educational exchanges which of course help to improve educational systems. Of our education depends our future.
