1. InfoView The user interface used for accessing the various features of BusinessObjects. It is web based & will have an URL. This UI is used to develop reports & partly for administering content in the BO system. 2. Central Management Console (CMC) The tool used to manage the Central Management Server (CMS). The CMC is used for most of the BO Server administration. The CMS controls all the other servers within the BusinessObjects Enterprise (BOE) system. 3. Migration Wizard This tool is used to migrate the BusinessObjects content from earlier versions of BO to the latest version. 1. Universe-metadata layer where the mapping between the Database & the business logic takes place. This does not store any data as such. The data is stored in microcubes. 2. Types of Universes 1. Relational Universe-used for reporting from relational data sources. Examples are Oracle, SQL Server etc. 2. OLAP Universe-used for reporting from OLAP data sources. Examples are SAP BW, Microsoft Analysis Services cubes etc.

Currently being phased out in later versions of BO due to WebI, the web based desktop tool being used more. Web Intelligence-the tool currently being used for developing BusinessObjects reports. It is a web based tool accessible through a web browser. We can develop all kind of reports using the WebI tool. Web Intelligence Rich Client-the latest of the report development tools which has become available in the BO kitty. It provides lot of online & offline ad hoc analysis capabilities. Also, we can include client/user side master data in the report & do analysis. LiveOffice- This is a tool which is built in to MS Office applications. It tightly integrates WebI reports & Crystal Enterprise reports with MS Office tools. We can transfer the contents of a WebI document in parts or full into MS Office documents using LiveOffice. BI Widgets- A widget framework that is used to display BO reports as Widgets in the end user desktop. The user can drag & drop Celsius dashboards & WebI report parts from multiple repositories & view them in the widget.
