ASSEMBLY AND TESTING OF THE

CLAS12 PRE-SHOWER CALORIMETER

Artur Amaryan (Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia) Stepan Stepanyan (Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, Newport News, Virginia) Gegham Asryan (Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, Newport News, Virginia)

This program requires reliable detection and identification of electrons, single photons, and -zeros. An accurate reconstruction of energy and position of electromagnetic showers, the detection of -Zeros, and in specific, the ability to distinguish single high energy photons from two-photon clusters produced from -Zero decay, is essential to the program. Thus, having an accurate model of the pre-shower calorimeter (light yield and transmission of each scintillator layer) is crucial to the experiment.
