Family: Amanitaceae; Order: Agaricales Description: Amanita is an attractive mushroom with brightly coloured caps often

ornamented with scales. However, many species are highly poisonous and deadly when consumed. Known as Death Cap and Destroying Angel. Many amanitas are mycorrhizal, growing and forming their basidiocarps in close association with forest trees. The basidiocarp is complete with a ring and volva.
