6325 Commissioning Procedure using craft Terminal

Log in via ECT

Connect the Cross cable to the Management port of the CMCC card Click on the NM 6300 Extended craft terminal on the Lap top Click add NE, Select NE class, and write NE name in the NM 6300 Extended craft terminal windo

Write down the NE Address from the CMCC card (49000100a082f9846801) Clicking on the NE name the 6325 window will appear Click on the 6325 and insert expected rack and name Write the Rack Name Click on the Rack 0 and insert expected subrack All the cards available in the subrack will be available

Inserting Expected Module into the operational NE
STEP-1:- Select Equipment View... in the pop-up menu of the NE icon. The Equipment View window appears.

STEP-2:- Open the pop-up menu in the Subrack <Subrack ID> <Subrack Type> title bar of the subrack in which you want to insert a new module, and select Insert Expected Module.

STEP-3:- The Insert Expected Module into [<Rack ID>-<Subrack ID>] Subrack window appears.

STEP-4:- Open the Module Type:, Module Subtype: and Module Slot ID: dropdown lists and select the required values for these attributes. Note: You are only able to place valid modules in valid slots.
STEP-5:- Open the Module Usage: drop-down list and select the type of traffic you wish the ports of the module to handle.

STEP-6:- After making your choice for the Module. Click OK. The progress window appears, and the expected module is being inserted in the equipment.
If no actual module exists in the slot in the physical NE, a Unit missing alarm is generated . The alarm will automatically cleared when an actual module is inserted in the physical NE.

Removing an expected Module

To remove the expected module from the operational NE , right click on the module and click remove expected module, that module will be removed as shown in the figure..

STEP-1:- Select Equipment View... in the pop-up menu of the NE icon. The Equipment View window appears. STEP-2:- Open the pop-up menu of the module you wish to edit, and select Edit Expected Module....

The Edit Expected Module [<Rack ID>-<Subrack ID>-<Slot ID>] <Module Type> window appears.

STEP-3:- Open the drop-down list of the attribute you wish to change and select the relevant value.

STEP-4:- If you wish to:

insert an expected transceiver, select the relevant port ID in the Transceivers table, and select the relevant application code in the Application Code drop-down list remove an expected transceiver, select the relevant port ID in the Transceivers table, and select the value <none> in the Application Code drop-down list.

STEP-5:- Click Apply. A progress window appears while the new attribute
value is being set. STEP-5:- Click OK. The module attributes has been changed successfully

Path: Element Manager>Equipment>NE address>Click Ok. Enter NSAP address for node > soft reset the NE

Path: NE>Edit Label>Click Ok. Enter NE Name for node.

Creating cross connections ,Termination point and Trail Trace Identifier

. Path: Element management>Traffic Management>Click Ok. Path: Element management>Traffic Management>Click Ok. Make the cross connection through AU4 to VC4

STEP-1:- Select Element Management > Traffic Management... in the popup menu of the NE icon.

The Traffic Management window will appear.


STEP-2:-Make the cross connection selecting AU4-1 and VC-4 001 and click connect in cross connection window STEP-3:- Select the AU4-1/ TU12 and go to attributes in the Traffic management STEP-4:- Select the AU4-1/TU12 and go to attributes in the Traffic management and monitor for Alarms Loopback . STEP-4:- Enable Trail Trace Identifier and send aTrace.

STEP-1:- Select Element Management > Transport> Synchronization in the pop-up menu of the NE icon. STEP-2:- Select Traffic Port> Configure > Assign Sources>Signal type >click add > Apply STEP-3:- Select Selector B > Configure> select the configure state > Enable STEP-4:- Select Priority for the selected state for STM-1/4 and Apply

Verifying the embedded software version


STEP-1:- Select Equipment File Management... in the pop-up menu of the NE icon. The File Management window appears. STEP-2:- Embedded software files can be verified

STEP-1:- Select Equipment > File Management > OHA and DCN management... in the pop-up menu of the NE icon. The OHA and DCN management window appears. STEP-2:- Select Configure >select port to be configured > select the DCCM/ DCCR byte .

Resetting NE
Causes and Effects:

All current performance data is cleared from its memory. All alarm-log data is also cleared from its memory. If the NEs NSAP address was changed and this is the first time, since then, that the NE is being reset, the NE will operate with its new NSAP address after this reset.

Note: A reset does not erase the hardware configuration, and traffic is not affected.

You want to change the rack and/or subrack IDs for the NE. For a Tellabs 6325 node, this must be done using the Reset NE window.

Resetting NE to factory settings:

When you reset an NE to factory settings, the existing configuration, including the NSAP address and the ECC configuration, will be discarded. This reset operation affects current traffic.

Power Reset:

A complete reset of all modules in the NE is performed. The firmware and software is reloaded.

How to reset ?
STEP-1:-Select Operation and Test Reset NE... in the pop-up menu of the NE icon. The Reset NE window appears: STEP-2:- Select the desired reset option from the reset window as shown in fig. STEP-3:- Click Reset. The NE has been reset.

Resetting a Module

Individual module can be reset instead of whole NE.


The configuration of the module will be retained during a reset. Traffic will not be affected. Alarm generation and communication with the management system will not be possible during the reset. Power Reset:-A complete reset of the module is performed. The firmware and software is reloaded.
