BAR FIRE IGNITES SHOOTING SPREE

TWO MEN ARRESTED IN SALEM MOTEL DEATH

By V.A. Jacobs
Police have arrested two men they said broke into a motel room in northeast Salem where one suspect allegedly killed a third man Monday. In what can only be explained as a bizarre and confusing case, the local police found two men in someone else motel room standing over the body of a third man. Neither the two men knew the deceased. After being questioned by the police they both admitted to having drinks with the deceased in the motel room but do not remember anything after that. The motel manager and several others were questioned as well, but no one seems to remember the deceased renting the room nor do they remember the two suspects or victim coming being in the room. Police currently are holding both suspects for questioning while the CSI team pays extra attention to the crime scene. Very few details are known so far as both suspects cant seem to remember the victim's name and so far both suspects were reported to be suffering from intoxication enough that they had trouble remembering their own names.

Fire starts in bar that causes a gun fight between several convicted felons. Some bystanders were here but no fatalities.

From eye witness accounts, the bar once known as "South Town Bar" was the scene of a very confusing fire fight. The few suspects that were arrested all said that they didnt shoot first but were returning fire in self defense. What is even more baffling is that no one knows who did shoot first or who was the original target. The police suspect the shooting was a distraction for the real crime, arson. The bar was set on fire once the crowd had made their way out of the bar and into the parking lot. So far the Police and Forensics have found little evidence left to tie to anyone, but several individuals are being held for questions. Their names are being withheld however, due to some of them having broken parole. Investigators are saying that this is the first time they have had any act of arson like this. For now the Police are taking at least some relief as no one was seriously hurt from either the fire or the shooting. The worst injuring was a bullet that grazed one of the patron's arms. She was taken to the hospital and sent home within the night. Others suffered bruises from the mob scene as they stampeded out of the bar.
