Performance Pathway Manager Head of Performance (HOP), British Basketball The Performance Pathway Manager (PPM) assists the HOP to establish an effective British Basketball performance pathway of developing elite basketball players in the UK. In addition, the PPM will specifically collaborate with key England staff and volunteers to develop elite players, coaches and programmes in the England talent pathway. The position also operates as a member of the Performance Management Group (PMG) 30,000 35,000 per annum (depending on experience) Initially 12 months with the possibility of extension depending on funding British Basketball/England Basketball. The position is a joint funded position between British Basketball and England Basketball. One month. Such hours as are necessary to fulfil the duties. This will involve a minimum of 35 hours per week, and will include work in evenings, weekends and public holidays. The role will be based at England Basketballs office in Sheffield at England Basketball, Arena Square, Sheffield but will involve time away from the office base, at British Basketball, seminars, training and preparation camps, and other British and England Basketball events (some of which may be overseas). Role Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Performance, the PPM has responsibility for managing and leading high performance development programmes and collaborating with staff and volunteers to improve the effectiveness and performance levels of both the elite player and coach pathway

The post holder will contribute to the achievement of performance targets, aims and objectives of British and England basketball through: Leading the pathways management with a particular focus on elite coach development Managing, measuring and assessing operational plans and programmes for effectiveness. Managing the implementation of the British Basketball Areas of Emphasis (AoE) within the England Talent Pathway: Area Performance Centres; Regional Development Programmes; Elite Development Programmes; Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence Centres; Regional Institutes of Basketball; National Teams and Development Squads. Leading the management and organisation of the National Teams Camps and other identified training programmes or camps

Key Responsibilities: Assist the HOP to develop and improve both the England talent pathway and performance youth player and coach standards by leading and managing staff and volunteers to improve performance Coordinate the England talent pathway and British Performance beam by ensuring processes and resources are provided to improve player and coach performance Lead pathway improvement by establishing monitoring and assessment tools for the evaluation and improvement of all performance programmes. Manage the successful implementation of the AoE within the Pathway. Lead and manage nominated National junior squad programs including supervision at European championships Manage and develop performance plans for the England Under 15 Development and the New Horizons U17 programmes to improve targeted players and coaches Lead and manage the Area Performance Centres (APC) and establish better communication processes and assessment tools for APC and junior club coaches to improve players and coaches at this level. Liaise with England Basketballs Performance Manager regarding the development of plans for Sport England and budgets for the England talent pathway. Liaise with England Basketballs Performance Manager in delivering the performance element of the 4 year whole sport plan, especially monitoring performance against targets agreed with Sport England. Lead the management of the British Basketball national team camps and other British Basketball identified training programmes or camps. Identify and lead targeted performance coaches for development and coordinate performance coach development clinics and programmes to improve coach performance Lead the AoE and Clubs Skills Guide roll out to all clubs and identify new strategies for clubs to improve coach development.

Possesses effective planning and managerial skills with a proven track record in an elite basketball environment Demonstrates skill to encourage creativity and contributions while fostering productive relationships with British Basketball, England Basketball and with other home nation staff, Demonstrates a proven positive attitude to new challenges and changing environments. Able to manage and evaluate projects effectively Displays very good performance knowledge which is credible with high level players, coaches and clubs. Conveys an image that is consistent with British and England Basketball values, demonstrating qualities, traits and demeanour that command leadership respect. Has a satisfactory CRB disclosure. Shows integrity and is fair, equitable and ethical in approach. Protects confidential information, adheres to policies and demonstrates loyalty to basketball and the high performance team. Willing to work irregular hours and travel extensively within the UK and occasionally overseas, with overnight stays and weekend work. Possesses knowledge and displays proven competencies in both the use of database management and performance analysis software and hardware as they operate in a high performance environment

Leadership including effective interpersonal skills in a basketball high performance or development environment 2. Successful coaching experience at multiple levels from junior, youth to senior levels with preference for the elite youth level 3. Demonstrated ability and experience in developing coaches, with a very good knowledge of basketball development and performance systems and an ability to acquire information relating to British basketball, England Basketball and the Areas of emphasis coaching guidelines. 4. Proven management skills, including project management, database and Performance analysis applications with demonstrated ability to plan measure and evaluate systems and programs
