YEEWONG MAGAZINE YEEWONG is Bhutans first and only womens magazine.

The magazine celebrates every aspect of womanhood that makes women special and unique with a special focus on the women of Bhutan. YEEWONG is one of Bhutans first few publications to have a glamourous touch to its covers and pages without compromising with its substance and value of the magazine. Conceptualized in 2008, the first issue of Yeewong was released in September 2009. Since then the magazine has been working on compiling issues that are not only entertaining but also educational and informative for women. Although Yeewong is a womens magazine, over the years, the magazine has developed a range of features such as YEEGETAWAY, YEE BUZZ, YEE READING and YEE PARENTING, that is suitable to a wide range of audiences. The magazine was initially published by MPC Bhutan Entertainment and was originally created as a Miss Bhutan Pageant Magazine. However, it was purchased and owned by Yeewong Design and Publishing in 2011. The magazine circulates a total of 5,000 copies to agents in Thimphu, Phuentsholing, Paro, Bumthang, Wangdiphodrang, Trongsa, Kanglung, Gelephu and will be starting subscriptions from June 2012. The magazine is published three times a year with periods of February-May, JuneSeptember, and October-January. The company at the moment has only two staff. The magazine contents are works of freelance writers and photographers. However, the company is planning to employ hire fulltime writers and photographers once the business becomes sustainable. The marketing of the magazine is outsourced to a local firm, BMC Private Ltd.
