JOB DESCRIPTION PROJECT ASSISTANT (INTERN) Responsible to: Project Officer Purpose of the Post To assist the Project

Officer with the implementation and delivery of an effective, efficient and quality based project management service for UK projects. Key responsibilities:

1. To assist the Project Officer in promoting, managing and monitoring the effective
delivery of projects, programmes and services.

2. To engage beneficiaries, check eligibility and introduce them to the project, providing
ongoing support to facilitate completion of the programme addressing any queries that may arise. 3. To liaise with partners and beneficiaries to ensure all project outputs are met. 4. To assist in the delivery of the project, particularly attending and providing administration at events 5. To ensure outputs are achieved in line with the delivery plan.

6. To assist in monitoring the progress of the project, working under the direction of the
Project Officer to ensure that remedial action is taken as at when necessary.

7. To work with the Project Officer to ensure all correspondence, monthly progress reports
and relevant administration is produced in a timely and accurate manner in line with requirements.

8. To assist the Project Officer in the identification and preparation of case studies and
reports to be used in promotional materials.

9. To work as part of a team, attending meetings as required and ensuring project


deadlines are met to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. 10. To assist in the development of UK programmes and provide appropriate administrative and research support. 11. To comply with Muslim Aids policies, procedures and quality assurance criteria 12. Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.

MUSLIM AID PERSON SPECIFICATION PROJECT ASSISTANT (INTERN) Qualifications a. Educated to degree level standard. Experience b. Proven experience in events and project management.

c. Proven experience with office administrative management.


Skills d. High levels of numeracy and literacy

e. Good report writing skills; f. Excellent administrative, organisational and presentation skills
g. IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and use the company software.

h. Skills in maintaining spreadsheets and databases


i. Good interpersonal and communication skills
