Today, we live in a fast-changing world filled with opportunities, passion, love, hatred, chaos, life-demands, survival and competitions. And I cant help but ask and wonder, What would be the future of my generation? Can anyone in this world tell me of what will happen in the next 20 years or so? These questions cant get out of my mind. Perhaps, a glimpse of the future would quench the thirst of my uncertainty. It was 7:30 in the morning when I woke up. I could see white graceful curtains swaying in a window of a beautiful mansion beside a white sanded beach with clear blue water sparkling in the warmth of the sunlight as a soft, gentle breeze blew in my face. I was on a leave from work because it was Christmas Eve. The mansion where I slept was owned by my friend. I had my Christmas Vacation there because she invited me to have a sleepover. I made a cup of coffee for myself because my friends were still sleeping. I sat by the spacious living room filled with shining furniture. The pack of coffee was manufactured by the company owned by one of my batch mates. He was none other than Mr. Ian Rae Diaz together with his cousin, Mr. Azel Val Diaz as the endorser of his product. Azel also endorses other products from Penshoppe, Bench and so much more. In fact, hes the number one endorser in the Philippines while Ian is also a pediatrician by profession. I read the newspaper and I was surprised of what I saw. On the front page, a big picture caught my eye. In that picture, a fair lady stood like the goddess of beauty. She was the Ms. Universe 2032, Ms. Karen Magallanes, one of my batch mates. Shes still looking forward to develop her career. At present shes with Mr. Francis John Morales. People who are really meant to be together always find each other in the end. As of now, Francis is the head of the National Bureau of Investigation with his lifelong partner and best friend, Mr.

Mike Gabriel Manguiob being the chief police of the citys headquarters. When I read the
article of the news, I smiled because the writer was none other than Mr. Van Jason Ganoy. He is now a journalist a news writer at Philippine Daily Inquirer. I turned the page to the Business section. Guess what I found! An elegant lady holding a plaque with the President of

the Philippines caught my attention. She was none other than Ms. Mutya Laro. She was awarded as the entrepreneur of the year. Because of her perseverance and for her entrepreneur qualities she was congratulated by the President. She is also a famous painter and broadcaster of ABS-CBN in this generation. On the Sports section, a bald man dunking the ball on the basket was on the picture. He was Mr. John Joseph N. Tercena. JJ is now an all-star player of PBA together with Reyjohn Basul. I flipped the next page, and it was the Advertisements Page. Familiar faces endorsing a product stared at me. They were Ms.

Queenlie Guingue and Ms. Kimberly Clark. They are also well-known endorsers of the year.
The next page I opened was the Obituary page. I looked for my name there but I didnt find it. I felt glad because I am still alive and God gave me another day to venture. Finally, I opened the Travel and Tourism page. There were newly discovered tourist spots in the Philippines. What caught my eye was a lady in one of the tourist spots pictures. The lady was none other than Ms. Almea Grace Villegas. She is now the head of the Department of Tourism. After reading the newspaper, I took the shower and dressed up. I grabbed my keys and got inside my red Ferrari. I looked at its gas level and realized its time to refuel so I stopped by a gasoline station owned by Mr. Jowee Taya and his cohort, Ms. Mea Fe Luna. Mea is also a designer. She owns a boutique of clothes designed by her for men and women. She would soon tie the knot with her worthy husband. Beside the station was a famous restaurant named, Chow! Around the world. It is owned by Ms. Jean Ann Opeder as the head chef, Ms. Mary Rose Ongod and Ms. Jolina Dela Cruz. The restaurant serves different kinds of food from different countries. Beside the restaurant was a flower shop crowded with people. The shop is called Roses are Red because their specialty was growing, selling and delivering roses owned by Ms. Milrose Balug. A building being constructed beside the shop was engineered by Mr. Jomer Ebona together with his cohort, Ms. Mirasol Morales as the architect of the building. Beside the building was a tailor shop owned by Ms. Anie Rose Delote. She sews fine dresses and clothes. She had made a lot of customers everyday. After refueling my car, I headed to a pharmacy to buy my meds. There, I found three of my batch mates, Ms. Rea Mae Ignacio, Ms. Jona Morales, and Ms. Kimberly Orfanel. We were greeting each other with smiling faces. Next to the pharmacy was the Land Bank of the Philippines. A beautiful lady came out from the bank and waved at me. She was Ms. Blanche

Mikee Pansaon. She is now the general manager of the LBP but still single because she is
always busy for work. Ms. Dorie Balo also works in the bank as a cohort of Blanche. Beside the bank was the Law Firm of the intelligent Victor Alba and the eloquent Ede Chrisse Sandayan together with their assistant Ms. Rovincynth Monday as the stenographer of the office. A fresh boutique is placed beside the firm. It was owned by one of my batch mates, Ms.

Sharrah Ferrando. She is a designer of clothes, bags, shoes and etc. A hospital, owned by
Mr. Jayson Sanchez is few blocks away from the boutique. Jayson is also a surgeon in his

hospital together with 3 pretty ladies, Ms. Princess Ellen D. Aguilon, Ms. Domilyn Morales, and Ms. Ayana Ferrando as three of the best nurses in the hospital. After buying my meds, I stopped by a carwash to have my Ferrari cleaned and vacuumed. The carwash was filled with customers so I waited at the customers lounge. I turned the radio on and searched for a good music to listen to. The song that I tuned in the radio was entitled, Help Us Grow composed and sung by Ms. Jea Cressa B. Luna. She won a 1 million peso-cash prize from a contest and now different talent scouts are hiring her for her discovered talent. When my carwash was done, I was surprised that the carwash is owned by Mr. Robert Caubang and Mr. Abdul Solaiman. Their service is really satisfying. In fact, they have so many customers a day than the other carwash services. Beside the carwash is a salon named Jes & Mi Salon The salon is owned by Ms. Jesalou Matuco together with Ms. Joycee Mae Domaguio as her cohort and best stylist and make up artist. The salon is sometimes visited by famous actresses since it is near the studio of ABS-CBN. After my carwash, I decided to eat my lunch because my tummy was in rage. So, I looked for a cheap but nice restaurant near where I was. Voila! Theres a good-looking restaurant ahead so I parked my car there and searched the menu. In the menu, I found one of my favorite dishes - the Taosi Spareribs of Mandarin. I was hoping it would really taste the same but I know it will not be. The restaurants name was Mamas Kainan wherein it is owned by Ms. Celia Mama. She is also a teacher by profession. As I waited for my order, I spotted a circle of soldiers in uniform having their lunch there. One of the guys was Mr.

Johnno Joones Layupan or should I say, Lieutenant Coronel Johnno Joones Layupan. He was
looking so brave and good-looking as before but more mature. On the other side of the restaurant was a group of policewomen also in uniform. There were two familiar faces that caught my attention. Ms. Koshi Chen Sayman and Ms. Krizantina Pregon, are now highlyrespected policewomen in the city. As friends of Celia, Ms. Glory Fe Apostol works as a manager of the restaurant, Ms. Jesha Cabanca works as a host there, Ms. Leslie Mae Linsag and Ms. Florelin Felizardo are working as facilitators of an event that would be held in Celias restaurant. After eating my lunch, I got out of the restaurant because I felt so full. Then, I noticed a building beside it. The building is a facility for exporting fruits and vegetables. Its name was MadaManie Fruits and Veggies. It is owned by Mr. Michael

Vincent Aumada and Mr. Jumar Aumanie. They are exporting high quality bananas in other
countries. They were able to have this foundation because of the wide lands theyve inherited from their fathers and because of the right choice they chose. But they will not be successful without the help of their batch mates, Mr. Roland Castro and Mr. Rhys Carl Ganoy as their superior delivery buddies. When I felt that I was in my normal phase, I got into my car and drove away. I headed to the mall to check out the bookstore because I have always been tempted by books. When I reached the mall, I looked for the bookstore. While looking for the store, I got to pass by the activity arena. There were so many people screaming names and I wondered what the

commotion all about is. To my surprise, the craze was all because of a famous boy band coming up on the stage. It was the Strings Oasis band lead by Mr. Aljordz Pregon. He is the lead singer and at the same time, the base guitarist of the band. The girls have gone wild because of his charming act of singing and his golden voice. I settled for a while and listened to the music around me. After their performance, screams became louder and louder because a gorgeous lady with a toothy smile was on the stage! She was none other than Ms. Ruth Sigue. She is now one of the best singers in the Philippines. I smiled and felt happiness because they have reached their goals on life. After their performances, I continued looking for the bookstore. Gotcha! I found you. In the faade of the store, two security guards were smiling at me. They were none other than Mr. Josen Damaso and Mr. Cresentino Altizo, Jr. As I entered the bookstore they were very polite than ever. Inside the store, I recognized the cashiers face. She was none other than Ms. Pearl Jenn Cada-a, the girl who had always been so quiet during our high school days. Together with Pearl was Ms. Sharrah Mae Astudillo her personal assistant. When I found the book I was looking for, I went out the store and I unexpectedly bumped with an astonishing lady, wearing pumps and an elegant dress. She was in a hurry thats why she hasnt seen where she was heading. The lady was none other than Ms. Dannica Ngojo. She is now a successful business woman. Dannica is engaged to a business man. They are really perfect for each other. Oh, me? I am a journalist. I have been a column and news writer at New York Times for 10 years and Im living my dream. What more can I ask for? Im living my life with God and I am absolutely happy. I headed for home and went to bed. I felt so thankful to God for letting me experience the happenings I had been encountering today. So I prayed before I slept and slowly closed my eyes. It was 7:30 in the morning when I woke up..and I was 15 minutes terribly late for school and I realized I was just dreaming! Oh! Snap! I dont want to be a DAING under the heat of the sun this morning! I said to myself. Well, maybe that dream is worth being late for. That was maybe just a dream but for me its a prophecy worth achieving for. That was maybe just a product of my wild imagination but I tell you all, this is a challenge to all of us a challenge towards aiming the highest point we could ever reach. Never stop hoping, never stop dreaming, libre lang mangarap! thats why we need to change our dreams into plans and turn our cants into cans. So, in the next 20 years or so, I hope well see each other again walking on our own sunshine.
