uniFLOW General FAQ 1. What is uniFLOW? uniFLOW is Canons premier cost management, print productivity and document capture solution. uniFLOW is a flexible solution suite consisting of various modules which provide different functionality. Some examples of uniFLOW modules includes Statistics, Secure printing etc. 2. Where is uniFLOW developed? uniFLOW is primarily developed in Germany by NT-ware. NT-ware is 70% owned by Canon Europe 3. Which countries / regions is uniFLOW sold in worldwide? uniFLOW is sold and supported in United States, Canada, EMEA, Oceania , Japan and Asia. 4. Since when is Canon USA reselling uniFLOW? Canon USA started uniFLOW business in October 2008 5. Who supports uniFLOW? The first line of uniFLOW support is always the Canon USA dealer. If the dealer needs advanced troubleshooting assistance, support is provided by both Canon USA and NT-ware 6. How are upgrades handled? Any customer who has a valid support maintenance contact for uniFLOW will be provided software upgrades at no additional cost. 7. Does NT-ware have a USA presence? NT-ware has established a USA office in Babylon,NY which staffs support , logistics and business development staff members 8. How many different versions of uniFLOW are available? uniFLOW is available in 4 different editions Workgroup Edition: 50 users floating Business Edition : 250 users floating Corporate Edition: 500 users floating Enterprise Edition: unlimited users All above editions included an office module with which a customer can activate any one of the following functionality Statistics, Secure Printing, Rules and Routing, Desktop Accounting, Server Clustering (all versions except Workgroup Edition) and Internet Gateway. At any time a customer can add additional modules to their uniFLOW installation 9. Is there a hosted option (ASP) of uniFLOW offered by Canon USA? No, a hosted option of uniFLOW is not offered by Canon or NT-ware.

10. What pre-sales material and support is available for uniFLOW? Sales material such as brochures, videos, presentations etc are available on Canon USA Extranet. For a onsite demo to customer or sales reps, please contact your Solutions Sales Analyst (SSA) or Technical Sales Executive (TSE) 11. Is there any uniFLOW sales training? Yes, a sales training course is offered by Canon USA Sales Training dept via the Learning Zone Site 12. Is there any uniFLOW Technical Training? Yes, a 5 day class room technical class is available in Canon USA Regional office. Please visit Canon eSUPPORT for more details

uniFLOW Statistics Module FAQ 1. How many reports are available in the Statistics module? 65 + reports are available in the Statistics module 2. Can we track both network and desktop printers using Statistics module? No, the statistics module can track only networked printers. To track desktop printers, the Desktop Accounting Module is required 3. Can any of the reports be customized? Yes, any of the reports can be customized to suit the customer needs (provided the information is in the uniFLOW database) 4. Can the reports provide a breakdown between Color and B/W print/copy jobs? Yes, there is a breakdown between color/b-w print/copy jobs 5. Is it possible to chargeback individual departments or even external customer? Yes, using the multi-tier cost centers, it is possible to chargeback customers or even internal departments 6. Is it possible to enforce printing budgets? Yes, it is possible to enforce printing/copying budgets (daily, monthly etc) 7. Is it possible to convert a Color job to B/W? Yes, using the Rules based config feature, it is possible to convert a color job to b/w (usage of Universal Driver is mandatory) 8. Do we need uniFLOW MEAP to track copies and prints? No, uniFLOW MEAP is not mandatory to track copy and print jobs. Other methods of login are supported for tracking copies such as Dept ID or Single Sign-on (SSO). But uniFLOW MEAP provides an advanced feature set along copy tracking.

uniFLOW Secure Print Module FAQ (Follow-ME printing) 1. Is uniFLOW MEAP required to perform Follow-you printing when Secure Print module is activated? Yes, uniFLOW is required to use Secure printing. Although there are other methods such as Release Queue Manager or MIND unit to achieve Follow-You printing. 2. What login options are available at the Canon device when using uniFLOW MEAP + Secure Print module? Using uniFLOW MEAP, following login methods are available ID Card (HID Prox, iCLASS, Legic , MiFare, Magentic etc) Username/Password (Active Directory/Novell) PIN Code Single Sign-ON 3. Is it possible to offer 2 different methods of login methods (for e.g: ID Card + PIN Code or ID Card or Active Directory) Yes, this is standard on uniFLOW when using uniFLOW MEAP + Secure Printing 4. How the job distribution is handled if a user travels outside the main office and needs access to his/her job remotely? Using the DRQM functionality, a users job is made available at any office. 5. Can a user preview the job prior to printing at the Canon MFP? Yes, this is possible when using the uniFLOW Universal Driver and uniFLOW MEAP at the Canon MFP. A Job Conversion Instance (JCI) license is required. 6. Can a user make finishing changes at the Canon MFP? Yes, this is possible when using uniFLOW Universal Driver and uniFLOW MEAP 7. Is Secure printing possible on non-Canon or non MEAP-enabled Canon devices? Yes, there are multiple methods to achieve Secure Printing on non-Canon and non MEAPenabled device. They are as follows MIND Release Queue Manager microMIND (new in v5)

uniFLOW Scanning 1. What is required to achieve uniFLOW scanning in addition of the uniFLOW server? In addition to the uniFLOW server, following components are required to setup scanning workflows for the customer a. Scan Processing Server: The Scan Processing Server license provides the I.R.I.S. iDRS TM tools and needs to be licensed installed on each server where scan processing should take place. This can either be the uniFLOW Server, the RPS or a different server. b. Scan Volume Package: In addition to the Scan Processing Server license, a Scan Volume Package is required. The scan volume will reset each year, but note that customer does NOT NEED to pay each year for the Scan Volume license. The license fee should be paid only once at the time of initial software purchase c. Scan Device License for MEAP: For enabling the scan interface on a MEAP enabled MFP, the uniFLOW Scan Device License for MEAP is required on each device where scanning should take place. d. Scan Addition for MEAP: This license is needed in case a customer has already licensed uniFLOW SPP License for MEAP or uniFLOW Login Manager for MEAP. Note: A & B are mandatory, while a customer must purchase either C or D to achieve Scanning workflow at the imageRUNNER device. C is required if the customer only wants uniFLOW Scanning workflow, while D is required if customer is also planning to setup uniFLOW Login or uniFLOW Secure Printing. 2. Why a Scan Volume? Scan Volume has several advantages 1) Customer with low scan volume can purchase a lower volume and still enjoy all the benefits of Scanning workflow 2) Customer with high scan volume can purchase a higher volume and still enjoy all the benefits of scanning workflow 3) Volume based scanning allows for easier departmental chargeback 3. Does uniFLOW Scanning provide the capability of document OCR ? Yes, uniFLOW Scanning provides the functionality of full document OCR or Zone OCR 4. Which OCR engine is utilized by NT-ware for Scanning workflows? NT-ware is utilizing OCR software from I.R.I.S 5. If a customer already has uniFLOW server and uniFLOW MEAP software (for Secure printing), what components are required for adding scanning capability? Customer would need to purchase Scan Processing Server(s), Scan Volume Package (200,000 or 600,000 or 1 Million pages per year) & uniFLOW Scan Addition License for MEAP

6. If the Scan volume resets each year, does the customer have to pay each year to renew the scan volume? No, the customer will only pay once for the Scan Volume license. The scan volume count is per year and will reset 12 months from the day of activation 7. In uniFLOW, are there separate modules for Scan to Exchange, Scan to E-mail , Scan to SharePoint or other image enhancement features such as Deskew, Despackle etc? No, all functionality is packaged into a single license. Customer does not have to purchase components to take advantage of the uniFLOW scanning features. 8. If the customer wants to just use the uniFLOW scanning workflow, what components are required besides the uniFLOW server? If the customer just needs to utilize uniFLOW scanning and no Statistics or Secure printing, then they must purchase the following a) Scan Processing Server b) Scan Volume Package c) Scan Addition for MEAP License 9. If the scan volume is almost depleted and there are few months left before the scan count will reset, can a customer easily add additional scan volume? Yes, a customer can easily purchase additional scan volume at any time and add the license key to the uniFLOW server. Upon adding the additional volume license key, the customer will immediately have additional Scan Volume. 10. Is it possible to purchase an unlimited Scan Volume package? Please contact your Canon USA Sales Representative on what options are available to purchase an unlimited Scan Volume package. But you will not find any Product Item code for unlimited Scan Volume on the uniFLOW Price list. 11. Can an IT Administrator setup e-mail alerts to multiple people informing about Scan Volume when it reaches a low count? Yes
