evident. Check by gently pinching the skin in a
section of the affected region. The skin will feel
thick, and the maneuver may be painful for the
patient.

Indications: Treats the internal clumping of water
and heat which injure the Yin (fluids) and disrupt the
water passages characterized by urinary difficulty,
fever, thirst with a desire to drink, hot or bloody
painful urinary dysfunction with lower abdominal
fullness and pain and possibly even, diarrhea, cough,
nausea, irritability, and insomnia.
Tongue is red with a scant coat.
This formula is very effective in removing
accumulated water without further injuring the Yin,
while simultaneously stabilizing the Yin without
retaining any pathogenic factors. A similar
presentation is often seen in patients with Yin vacuity
constitutions who are invaded by external pathogenic
heat.
Abdomen: Lower abdomen may be tense or tender
on palpation.
