A. Respecting Patient Autonomy Versus Protecting the Patients Health Health indeed is a fundamental right of every individual. The respobisbilty encompasses promotion of health, prevetion of illness, alleviation of suffering, restoring of health, and when these are not possible, assistance towards a peaceful death. Thus, it is not part of the profession to bring harm to the patient for as being professionals, we are expected to commit to our work with a purpose to give effort and service to our fellowmen. Being a nurse, it is important to have faith in fundamental values that emphasize respect for human dignity. Philosophy in life grows and ones personality matures. The center of our profession is the patient and so we need to know the patients bill of rights. However, it is important that were also guided and protected at the same time. Ethical dilemmas are everywherere to be found. Its a case to case basis where nurses weigh the situations and involve themselves in the process of decision making. It is not enough to decide based on theh feelings or emotions, but we needed to follow specific principles or moral maxims one nation follows. In the case of the patient, it is very difficult to let critical thinking work. We know that it is necessary to respect what the patient wants or when he decided not to follow a certain procedure; however, for us nurses to avoid being sued or put ourselves to danger, we needed to safeguard ourselves by always not forgetting the consent and documentation. There is really no easy rule of thumb in solving dilemmas.

B. Video Scandal: Rectal Surgery Scandal Nurses should be very careful in every action they make. The profession deals with peoples lives. This is neither a joke nor a play to have fun. It is a serious commitment to save the lives of others. To ensure that the decisions and actions of the nurses are consistent with current legal principles, as well as to protect the nurse from liability, knowledge of laws that regulate nursing practice is needed. It is very necessary to have these laws so that health care providers will be able to perform only the right thing to render care to the patient well. Because of the presence of laws, actions should have been monitored and controlled but not in the case of that video scandal. It is very clear and evident that all those health care providers in the operating room, who, supposedly must have been respecting every patients right to privacy and confidentiality, are all making fun during the procedure and had the guts f uploading it on youtube, a very renowned site for video sharing where all people around the globe have the chances of seeing this video. Its really a shame for the country. Personally, I could not see in them the sense of professionalism and it brings me grudges for what they had committed during the Hippocratic Oath are all gone to waste.

C. Nurses Role in Treatment Decisions for the child with Neurologic Impairment Healthcare providers are often faced with ethical dilemmas when making treatment decisions for a child with neurological impairment. Problems may stem from the fact that the wishes of the family may be in opposition to what the healthcare team feels is in the best interest of the child. There are many factors that need to be considered when determining

treatment options for the child with neurological impairment. Nurses are in a unique position to advocate for the involvement of the child's family in making these difficult decisions. The main job responsibility of a neurology nurse is to provide exceptional patient care. This may involve answering patient questions, explaining physical exam procedures such as brain scans, evaluating patient health and tracking vital signs.
A neurology nurse must provide appropriate assistance to neurology doctors. Neurology nurses must have knowledge of how the brain and spinal cord function in order to be a knowledgeable resource for patients. They must know the proper techniques necessary to treat patients who have these to suffer. The daily duties of a neurology nurse are much like other nurses. They include assisting doctors in performing tests and procedures, administering medication, raising concerns about patient progress to doctors and maintaining patient health records. Neurology nurses may need to take continuing education courses in order to stay on top of the latest trends in the neurological care of patients.

D. Identifying Ethical Issues from the Perspective of the Registered Nurse Ethical dilemmas have been defined as problems in which resolution is complicated by a perception of equally unfavorable options (Lachman, 2006). Dilemmas and conflicts often lead to moral distress, which was classically defined by Wilkinson (198788) as psychological disequilibrium and a negative feeling state experienced when a person makes a moral decision but does not follow through by performing the moral behavior indicated in that decision

Stress is part of the profession and every situation has its own story and uniqueness. It is difficult to decide especially when conflicts arise and it will compromise either the patients health or the license of the nurse. We must be vivid and always put in mind that we are to protect not only the patients life but to protect our license as registered nurse by studying the case and to always document every data, action and response. In resolving ethical dilemmas, we dont have an easy rule of thumb. Each is needed to be carefully weighed and investigated since nursing practice does not just involve

nursing procedures but also the observance of ethical practice and awareness or ethical obligation.
