Language Courses:
Ya la tomaste? All students must take through at least the 2002 level or equivalent of a language other than English. Consider your language needs and the IP language requirements when signing up for summer and fall classes. Students studying abroad or working abroad this fall for the 1st and/or 2nd term of their IP international experience must have the term(s) approved for the IP. To gain approval, please complete the International Experience Approval Form and see advisement and signatures from the representatives listed on the form. It is highly recommended to have this form completed and turned into the Office of International Education before Phase I registration so that you can sign up for the IP audit course (no credit/no homework!) for the semester youre abroad. (Note if this is your 2nd term, and you have already submitted an International Experience Approval, you do not need to do so again, unless there was a change to your plan).
Once the IP is worked into DegreeWorks, it will also be added to the new Online Application for Graduation. For now, students petitioning to graduate with the IP Designator must still complete the IP Degree Designator Form (hard-copy; on Forms section of website: http://www.internationalplan.gatech.edu/forms ). Please note this form has changed: The Office of the Registrar has requested that the IP designator forms be collected and submitted by the International Plan Assistant Director. Therefore, students will obtain academic unit signatures first, then submit the original copy to the IP for the final approval.
R.A.T.S. Week welcomes new students to Georgia Tech through programs that offer information, fun activities, opportunities to get involved, and events where they can meet other students. R.A.T.S: "Recently-Acquired Tech Students," and acknowledging new students as such is one of the many treasured traditions at Tech. There is more behind the R.A.T.S. program than little yellow hats. The tradition of wearing the cap, with careful attention to the many rules on the hat's upkeep, is still regarded. Many organizations, especially the GT Band, make sure each year that the RATS tradition is kept alive.
About iNIGHT and Involvement Week August 26th -> August 31st (2nd week of School)
Location: Tech Walkway
Each year the Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement (formerly known as the Offices of Student Involvement and Community Service) hosts Involvement Week, allowing organizations an opportunity to reach out to campus about the terrific work and services they provide. Involvement Week will be hosted on Tech Walkway from 11:00am to 1:30pm August 27-31 and our office will provide tables and chairs for all organizations wanting to participate. The event is meant to be a fun break after the first week of classes with interactive activities or performances that display organizations' talents and focuses (i.e. dancing, singing, cooking, robotics etc).
