European equities are trading on a flat note on the back of expectations for the growth concerns of the Euro Zone. Asian markets ended on a mixed note and US stock futures are trading on a flat note. German Import Prices increased by 0.7 percent in July as against a decline of 1.5 percent a month ago. German Ifo Business Climate declined by 1 point to 102.3-mark in August from previous rise of 103.3-level in July. Spot gold prices traded on flat note today on the back of mixed global market sentiments. Additionally, weakness in the US Dollar Index (DX) also supported an upside in the prices. The yellow metal touched an intra-day high of $1676.5/oz and hovered around $1669.8/oz today till 4:30pm IST. On the MCX, Gold October contract increased by 0.4 percent as a result of depreciation in the Indian Rupee and was trading around Rs.31,017/10 gms today. Taking cues from rise in gold prices along with upside in the base metals set, Spot silver prices gained by 0.2 percent today. Additionally, weakness in the DX also helped upside in the silver prices. The white metal touched an intra-day high of $31.3/oz and was trading around $30.8/oz today. In the Indian markets prices increased 1.5 percent on account of depreciation in the Indian Rupee and hovered around Rs.57,774/kg till 4:30pm IST today. LME markets are closed today on the eve of Summer Bank Holiday as a result very less movement is seen in the base metals pack. In the Indian markets prices traded on a positive note on account of depreciation in the Indian Rupee. Copper, the leader of the base metals complex increased by 0.5 percent and hovered around Rs.427.8/kg after touching an intra-day high of Rs.428.6/kg today till 4:30pm IST. Nymex crude oil prices increased by 0.97 percent taking cues from expectations of Tropical Storm Isaac entering into the Gulf of Mexico and the part of world number two refineries in Venezuela was shut as a result of breaking of fire. Additionally, weakness in the DX also supported an upside in the prices. Crude oil prices touched an intraday high of $97.7/bbl and were trading around $97.08/bbl today. On the domestic bourses, prices increased by around 1 percent on the back of depreciation in the Indian Rupee and hovered around Rs.5,410/bbl today.
