Welcome Back Fort Worth ISD students!

By: Conan Mathson, Program Director The summer 2012 construction effort has wrapped up and the District is eager to welcome the students and staff back from their summer break.They will be returning to facilities that have received additional renovation work, as the grand nale to the 2007 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This districtwide work effort was performed using savings generated, in part, through effective administration of the CIP. Careful coordination has taken place with the school principals, to make sure our work did not interfere with their ongoing preparation for the start of school. Our special appreciation goes to the academic leadership of the Fort Worth ISD for their support and guidance through this, and past, intense summer construction efforts; the success of the CIP would not have been possible without your partnership. We also appreciate the support of contractors, architects and many others that have worked hard to achieve these results. On behalf of the CIP and AECOM staffs, we welcome students and staff to their freshly renovated learning environments and wish you much success in 2012/13.

Another Proud Addition Project

By: Ray Castillo, Controls Manager One of the FWISD schools that received an addition as part of the 2007 Capital Improvement Program is Carroll Peak Elementary School. Designed by Camargo-Copeland Architects and built by Steele & Freeman Inc., the building addition includes ten classrooms, a computer lab, music, science and art classrooms, two resource rooms, a special education classroom, a teacher lounge and workroom, and ve ofces. Completed in the fall of 2011, the 21,153 SF building is located on the east side of the school. Two new playground areas, a basketball court, an underground water detention system, and thirteen additional parking places were also provided by this project. The community, parents, student and faculty have enjoyed their new addition and renovations this past year and for sure will continue to enjoy them for many years to come!

Congratulations Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD

By: Kristabel Lopez, Program Executive The AECOM staff in Dallas/Fort Worth joins in congratulating our peers at Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD for successfully completing the new Good Elementary School, a brand new replacement school built with 2003 bond funds. After the students, alumni, staff and community said their goodbyes, the original 1956 campus was torn down during the summer 2012. Johnny Hibbs, Chief Operations Ofcer for Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD shared One key thing is that this replacement building was constructed while the existing school was fully operational. The new building in many instances was within 15 feet of the existing structure. The picture taken on February 4, as two large pieces of air conditioning equipment were set in place on the roof of the new building under construction, illustrates how close the old and new buildings were on site. R. E. Good Elementary School is named for Rex E. Good, a descendent of the Good family of pioneers who rst came to Carrollton in the early 1900s. Congratulations to the project team and entire Carrollton-Farmers Branch community!
