The practice of Human Resources (HR) has different functions.

Below are some of them: Management Communication Companys management establishes organisational structures to meet vision and mission, ensures compliance and instructs HR to work: develop and maintain. HR secures approval always, reports back and maintains cycle (management-HRmanagement). Compensation and Benefits HR administers the payroll, absenteeism (including ill-health), salaries, tax, promotions, leave, bonuses and compensation as established; investigates and reports industrial accidents for insurance; undertakes regular reviews; collects required and provides relevant information. Decision-making and Problem-solving HR liaises with management to develop policies on differing working conditions, performance evaluation and reward, disciplinary procedures and reprisals; analyzes reports on personnel problems, queries and grievances, proposes recommendations and executes decisions. Organisation, Methods Compliance and Discipline HR works to enhance a general positive attitude towards total organisational objectives; collects financial proposals for company operations; ensures company activities timely comply with relevant external regulations and standards and with company rules. Training and Development With prior management approval, HR and departmental managers plan and conduct new employee orientation, old employee re-orientation; analyze training needs for staff development in-house, off the premises or abroad and timely implement. Recruitment HR recruits for required staff vacancies following established procedures. With applications received, HR screens and invites to continue process; select candidates with relevant department; negotiations conditions of service; communicates decisions to candidates; ensures assumption of office. Total Information Gathering, Storage and Retrieval

HR designs forms for necessary information-gathering; collects information as required; maintains gathering and storage; ensures periodic updating for specific purposes, ensures easy retrieval of stored information, provides statistics as required. Labour Relations and Conflict-Resolution HR interprets and advices on labour matters; studies legislation on labour to ensure organisational compliance; HR negotiates with staff representatives on conditions of service; will willingly go to arbitration. The De-termination of Contract In all cases of contract de-termination, HR ensures that all company rules are followed except by direct management intervention and waivers.
