PAKISTAN IN MOURNING
Arfa Karim had become a house hold name during last few weeks as she went into coma in December and the whole nation in Pakistan and overseas has prayed for her life. Yet she breathed last on 16th January. Arfa passed the Microsoft exam in 2004 and Bill Gates was so impressed by her that he invited her to the company's US headquarters. A postage stamp will be soon released to acknowledge her contribution to IT while the information minister of Sindh has announced that IT media city will be called Arfa Karim IT Media City Project. Another sad news was the passing away of Irfan Majeed in Melbourne who died in his sleep and has left a widow with four kids in city of Gujrat. The deceased was laid to rest in Melbourne and donations are requested to support his family in crisis. For account details visit our facebook page.
We offer our condolences to the family and request all readers to recite Fateha for the departed souls.
We are also in receipt of a letter from the Chief of the Army Staff, through our defence advisor in Canberra. The COAS has expressed his thanks to all who have sent their messages to the families of Shaheeds and those who were injured in NATO attack on Pakistan soil.
