It is with great pleasure that I am bringing you our Chapters very first newsletter. Our chapter always has a lot of activities from month to month and we feel this will be a great way to inform everyone outside of our organization such as alumni and firms that sponsor Zeta Iota.

National Champions in Social Networking

Shyla Pheasant, David Loomis, Michael Peck and I competed in Beta Alpha Psis National Best Practices Competition in Social Networking and won 1st place. This was the first time our chapter competed at the national level and is quite an accomplishment for our chapter and the University. Our win was based on how the chapter utilized Google docs and the social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The purpose was to keep members, officers, alumni, and the accounting community connected. We have created a Social Media Director position that will focus and grow what has already been established and our Chapter will continue to use all platforms created for this project.

Susan G. Komen Race Team

One goal for the Chapter this year was to find a way to raise money for charity.

We participate in a lot of community service events but we wanted to make a real

difference. So it was decided we would create a team for Susan G. Komen. Joanna
alumni, and family to join in on the fun.

Kardys-Stone our VP of Community Service created the team and invited all members, Our goal was to raise $1,000 and as of 9/23 we are at $1,485 with 21 team members. We look forward to the event and hope you will join us on the team or support us through a donation.

Fall 2012 Recruitment

Membership planned both lunches. One was a Meet the Chapter event where interested accounting students had the opportunity to personally meet and talk with the officers and members.
