TFN 2012 Endorsement Slate: State Board of Education

Over the past five years, politicians on the Texas State Board of Education have censored what students will learn in their history classes, rejected established science and ignored the recommendations of teachers and respected scholars. That's why the Texas Freedom Network is pleased to announce our slate of endorsed candidates for the State Board of Education general election in November. These candidates will put an end to the state boards embarrassing record of putting the culture wars and personal agendas ahead of educating Texas kids. District 1 Martha M. Dominguez (D-El Paso) Candidate Website District 2 Ruben Cortez Jr. (D-Brownsville) Candidate Website District 3 Marisa B. Perez (D-San Antonio) Candidate Website District 4 Lawrence Allen (D-Houston) District 8 Dexter Smith (D-Friendswood) Candidate Website District 10 Judy Jennings (D-Austin) Candidate Website District 12 Lois Parrott (D-Dallas) Candidate Website District 13 Mavis B. Knight (D-Dallas)

District 5 Rebecca Bell-Metereau (D-San Marcos) Candidate Website District 6 Traci Jensen (D-Houston) Candidate Website

District 15 Steven Schafersman (D-Midland) Candidate Website

Many of these candidates are involved in tight election contests or are in races where voter turnout

is expected to be low. Your support can make a critical difference in helping elect leaders who support our mainstream values. Here's what you can do next: Vote for these candidates on November 6. (Early voting: October 22 through November 2) Contact their campaigns and offer to help. Volunteer support is always welcome in the final weeks of the campaign. Please tell the campaigns that you are a member of the Texas Freedom Network. Talk to family members, friends and associates who live and vote in the districts where TFN has endorsed candidates. Share your support for these candidates and encourage your own network to support them as well.

We hope our endorsements not only help you to make informed decisions at the ballot box, but also inspire you to help the campaigns of those candidates for office who truly support the ideals we all share: a commitment to religious freedom, individual liberties and strong public schools.
