The OpenEmbedded development and build environment produces the
Gumstix distribution of Linux which runs Overo and the BeagleBoard
 With Gumstix OpenEmbedded, it’s easier to:
- Support the wide array of gumstix configurations
- Download a wider selection of software packages
- Leverage an integrated package manager
- Install precompiled package binaries
- Upgrade factory images to the current package revision without
recompile
- Support field upgrades through pkg updates
