THE BIG ASSEMBLY LIVED UP TO EXPECTATIONS! Last Thursday, 17 of our year 11 pupils took part in the 'Big Assembly' at the Colston Hall. As part of the Year of Faith, over 70 Catholic primary and secondary schools from the Clifton diocese participated in the event. All of the schools showcased their gifts and talents, through singing, dance and drama...it was great! Bishop Declan led the liturgy for what was to be a fitting end to a wonderful day. All pupils agreed that the day was a great success. Alex Bevan, Abi Alexander, Grace Beasley Suffolk, Emily Shiga and Molly Spencer-Harty. SHOE BOX APPEAL OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD We will be challenging our pupils to put together as many shoeboxes as possible, filled with gifts and toys for children in the world who won't be receiving any presents this Christmas. Operation Christmas Child seeks to bring a small amount of happiness to thousands of children all over the world. A simple thing such as a shoebox filled with toys, gifts and toothbrushes can make a world of difference to children who would otherwise have nothing. Please support our shoebox appeal and bring in empty shoeboxes and items that will contribute towards a box. If you are not in year 7, 8 or 9 but would still like to put a box together, then please speak to Lay Chaplain, Camilla or Mr McCarthy who can give you more information! Thank you so much!

BRISTOL RUGBY TRAIN AT ST BEDES Bristol Rugby's first team squad trained on our 3G artificial pitch on Monday of this week prior to their B&I Cup opener with Cardiff at the weekend. Former St Bede's pupil and full-time Bristol Rugby Academy member Joe Joyce suggested the venue after poor st_bedes_s@bristol-city.gov.uk E-mail: weather had affected the pitches at the Club's Clifton RFC training base. "I left St Bede's before the sports complex facilities were completed," said Joe. "I didn't get the chance to take advantage of them as a pupil, so it was great to come back today. The boys really enjoyed training on the state of the art full size playing surface. It was nice to come back and return to my old school and I even managed to catch up with my ex-teacher Mr Johnson after training."
