Organization Overview: Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a leading development organization functioning fo r social and spiritual development of the

human community since 1958. It was fou nded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, (1873-1965) an eminent educationist, re former and spiritual leader with the motto and aim of social and spiritual develo pment of entire human community. Organizations Profile Starting as a philanthropic social service organization in 1958, DAM gradually h as evolved to be one of the prominent development organizations working at the g rass roots level and networking with national and international level organizati ons in the fields of education (including non-formal education), sustainable CBO s, poverty alleviation, health, environmental sanitation, safe water and arsenic mitigation, income generation & institution building, agriculture, women childr en development, gender development, HIV/AIDS prevention education, child and wom en trafficking, disaster management, human and skill development training, quali ty NFE, IEC, BCC and AV materials development, research and consultancy. Besides it works to organize and facilitate national, sub-regional and regional level t raining workshops on various thematic issues. It works for the socio-economic an d cultural development of poor men and women in both rural and urban areas, thro ugh providing a package development programme. Dhaka Ahsania Mission has been en joying Consultative Status with UNECOSOC, Associate Status with UNDPI and Operat ional Relations with UNESCO, UNICEF, UNDP, UNESCAP and ACCU Japan. Dhaka Ahsania Mission is member of a number of NGO networks including Campaign for Popular Ed ucation (CAMPE), Coalition for Urban Poor (CUP), Bangladesh Sishu Adhikar Forum (BSAF), NGO Forum for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Voluntary Health Services S ociety (VHSS) in Bangladesh. It is also a member of different international netw orks and coalitions like- Asia South Pacific Bureau of Adult education (ASPBAE), International Council for Adult Education (ICAE), Appeal Resource & Training Co nsortium (ARTC), International Council on Alcohol and Addiction (ICAA) and Commo nwealth Association for Education and Training of Adults (CAETA).
