Why is WikiLeaks established?

Goal: Provide an innovative, secure and anonymous way for sources to leak information. The principles of WikiLeaks based are the defense of freedom of speech and media publishing, the improvement of our common historical record and the support of the rights of all people to create new history. WikiLeaks derived these principles from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Jan 2007: Launch of WikiLeaks Dec 2007: An Ofcial Only 238-pages US military document released From 2008-2010, WikiLeaks keeps disclosing documents. Aug5 2010: The Pentagon demands WikiLeaks to hand over all Afghan documents. Aug12 2010: Mr.Assange says he and his team has gone trough 7000/15000 documents, as they are blocking out the names of sources. Aug18 2010: Mr.Assange applies for a residency permit in Sweden.

Sept 2 2010, A Swedish prosecutor reopened a rape investigation against Mr. Assange. Oct 23 2010,WikiLeaks released a cache of nearly 400,000 US military documents from the Irap war. Nov 28 2010, WikiLeaks posted 250,000 sensitive documents about the years of change of US diplomatic foreign policy. Dec 7 2010, Mr. Assange turned himself in and was arrested in London. Feb 24, 2010, Mr.Assange appealed the extradition to Sweden which was ordered by a UK court. Nov 2,2010, The UK Supreme Court dismissed Mr.Assanges extradition.

The development of WikiLeaks

Jun 2012 Mr. Assange began to live at Ecuadors Embassy in London. Jul 2010, WikiLeaks said it is running out of money and blamed Visa and MasterCard, which have prohibited users from donating. Aug16 2012, Ecuador grants political Asylum to Mr. Assange.
