LANDMARK ON SCHOTTEGATWEG OOST RENAMED TO PANAMERICAN LIFE INSURANCE OF CURAAO AND ST MAARTEN
Friday October 26 2012: WILLEMSTAD, CURAAO- A landmark on Schottegatweg Oost has been renamed to Pan-American Life Insurance Company of Curaao and St. Maarten by its new owners the Pan-American Life Insurance Group. The site was former glass building known as Alico Building at the Schottegatweg Oost in Salia. The official signage unveiling ceremony took place on Friday October 26 2012 at PanAmerican Life on the Schottegatweg Oost in the presence of the senior management team, led by CEO and Managing Director of Pan-American Life Insurance Caribbean, Mr. Miguel Sierra, Vice President, Regional Director of Agencies of Pan-American Life Insurance Mr. Jacinto Martinez, as well as agents, management and staff of the local company. On August 2, 2012 Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) purchased the assets of MetLife ALICO in Curaao. This purchase solidified the Groups strategy to become one of the leading life and health insurance providers in the Americas. With the entry of Pan-American Life on the local insurance landscape, customers will benefit from being insured by a provider that has a high-quality asset base, a strong balance sheet, financial strength ratings of A (Excellent) from AM Best and Fitch Ratings, an expanded footprint and 100 years of experience with a distinct focus of life and health insurance in the Americas. The acquisition now brings the local companys total sales force to 60 agents and managers and 44 employees and its worldwide workforce base to 1,300 employees and 3,000 agents and managers. The event which represented a new beginning for the employees and agents of the company was reflected in the positive and upbeat vibes emanating from everyone as they participated in a get-together in true Curacao ambiance.
