A statewide telephone survey of 500 likely voters in Ohio was conducted by Grove Insight November 1-2, 2012 using professional interviewers. Quotas were set to ensure calling into cell phone only households. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.4 percentage points at the 95% level of confidence.

The President is starting to see daylight in overall support and on key factors deciding this race Barack Obama is currently ahead of Mitt Romney by four percentage points (49% to 45%). This is due, in part, to his lead in several key factors driving vote choice in this race. By a margin of eight points, voters view Obama as the man with the plan to move our country forward. He is also seen as candidate who will work to re-build the middle class economy (+8 over Romney).

Lean Obama 3% The president has also seen a meaningful uptick in Romney 40% his job approval ratings in the past several days, Lean Romney 5% which could be a function of his response to Superstorm Sandy. His positive approval numbers are up by five points and his disapproval numbers have dropped by four.

Claims of inaccuracy of the Romney Jeep ad may also be hurting the challengers credibility. Ohio voters believe Romney is better described as the candidate who you cant really believe what he says (+7 for Romney). The President also has a big lead among the early vote (56% to 39%)indication that the Democrats ground game is working.
