FLIGHT DUTY TIME LIMITATIONS OF COCKPIT CREW


Flight Duty Time It is the time period which starts when the crew member reports for a duty at a time and place required by the operator and ends when the crew member is free from all duties. Flight time It is the total time that commences when an aircraft moves under its own power for the purpose of flight and ends when the aircraft comes to rest after landing. Rest period The period during which a flight crew is not assigned any duty. Flight Crew Flight crew means the pilots who fly the aircraft and will also include a flight engineer and flight navigator Flight time limitations for Domestic Operations The maximum number of hours any domestic air carrier can schedule its flight crew members to do flight time shall be as follows, 1000 hours in any 12 months period 125 hours in a period of 30 consecutive days 30 hours in any 7 consecutive days. No air carrier operating domestic routes with pilots and flights to neighboring countries may schedule a flight crew member for more than 8 hours of flight time during any 24 consecutive hours without a rest period of 16 hours or more under the following conditions:

When the Flight time is less than 8 hours then the Flight Crew should get rest period of 8 hours. Time spent in transportation by a flight crew member to or from an airport at which he was relieved from duty to return to his home station is not considered a part of rest period

Flight crew will not allow undertaking any duty between periods embracing 0000 to 0500 hours local time if 3 of 7 during the previous day he/she performed flight duty between the period embracing 0000 to 0500 hours.

Flight time limitations for International Operations Flight time of a flight crew shall not exceed For Two pilot crew operation 30 hours in 7 consecutive days. 125 hours during a period of 30 consecutive days. 1000 hours during the preceding 12 months.

For Operations with more than 2 pilots 125 hours during any 30 consecutive days. 270 hours during any 90 consecutive days. 1000 hours during any 12 months period.
