Avantica Technologies was founded in 1993 with headquarters in Silicon Valley, California, and a software engineering center in San Jos, Costa Rica. Today, the company has expanded its engineering centers across Costa Rica and into Peru and is among the largest Nearshore software engineering services specialists in Latin America. These internships are awarded during the summer of each year and is expected to agree with the results of this program, the number of internships to provide increased year by year.
Internships give you the chance to experience and practice in a great work environment with the latest technology and meet the most advanced methodologies and techniques in software engineering. Interns will work in the same development teams of our customers in the United States and Central America.
This program is in line with corporate strategy to promote software export industry in Peru, and the improvement of professional resources that universities recognized as leaders in this type of technology training delivered to the country.

Grant of 2 Internships in Costa Rica (Summer of 2012)

Base requirements:
1. Student of the last cycles of the careers of Informatics or Systems engineering or related areas 2. Being in the highest academic average in the Faculty of Informatics or Systems engineering (validated with Record Notes / weighted average) 3. Excellent level of written and verbal communication in the English language, in person, by phone and in teams. 4. Advanced knowledge in JAVA / J2EE coding and (ETL tools, SOAP, Webmethods, etc.). 5. Knowledge of XML and SQL. 6. Desirable Basic knowledge:. Net, C # and Visual Basic. 7. Understanding the work under development methodologies. 8. Willing to learn new technologies. 9. Excellent personal development. 10. Must be willing to travel to Costa Rica. Tentative date of review: January 15th, 2012 and return on March 15th, 2012. 11. Have current Peruvian Passport 12. Having the vaccine against yellow fever International
We offer:
1. Air transport going / return to San Jos, Costa Rica 2. Accommodation: Lodging Breakfast Dinner 3. Per Diem of $ 10 to cover: Lunch Transport 4. Two months of work in our software factory in Costa Rica. 5. Taking this period as part of pre-professional practice by continuing the same office in Peru. 6. Once completed their professional training (obtaining the title) for, and if its internal assessment is positive, a permanent job position in our software factory in Peru.

Obligations of Participating Universities

The universities participating in the program must be submitted no later than December 16th, 2011, the curriculum vitae of the candidates applicants for the internships offered. Must provide a summary of your academic record, including the last semester completed by the candidate.
Granting of internships
Avantica Technologies offered internships granted if and only if: 1. The candidate passes all the tests made in the interviews for: a) In the Lima office will be a pre-assessment consists of the following: Psicological Test Preliminary technical evaluation. Assessment of English (level of writing, reading and speaking). b) Candidates who pass the first stage are scheduled for a second interview, this time by telephone from Costa Rica, which will deepen on their expertise and re-evaluate English proficiency. 2. The candidate meets all the requirements described in the statement of granting internships. 3. The candidate does not have any impediment to travel to Costa Rica. 4. Should one or more of the candidates do not pass the Avantica reserves the right to grant quotas or not filled by candidates. 5. Should the candidate be prevented from entering Costa Rica, Avantica reserves the right to grant or not grant. 6. Once selected these candidates will be notified before December 26th, 2011 to initiate the relevant procedures.
