Integr8 IT services cement Avusas digital security

THE SITUATION
THE SITUATION Integr8 IT, South Africas largest privately owned national BEE ICT network integration and infrastructure management specialist, has initiated and completed a multi-level ICT infrastructure upgrade project at Avusa Ltd., formerly Johnnic Communications Limited (Johnnic), to ensure the JSElisted company has several critical elements of its digital strategy covered. Integr8 IT has earned and established an unrivalled reputation for high-level infrastructure management, managed services application and transference of the intrinsic value in next generation communications technology. Among a number of high profile local and international clientele, the company is the preferred service provider for the Kelly Group, voted best overall company at the 2009 Topco National Business Awards. Technical engineers at Integr8 IT, with leverage and backing of the companys national and international high-tech customer relationship management hub, the Integr8 IT Nerve Centre, have successfully linked users at Avusa to a range of critical services and implemented several key changes to the existing infrastructure. This includes consultation around the NLB ISA Cluster which is critical to day-to-day business revenue generation.

THE SOLUTION
Avusa required its technical ICT managed services partner to provide an anti-virus package to protect all user devices including Desktops, Laptops as well as the option of securing all Windows Mobile cellular phones for 2500 users situated nationally throughout the Avusa Group, as well as servers. Furthermore the company required that its current antivirus package be removed and replaced, and the new antivirus software be deployed to all endpoints. This had to include back office management and reporting servers. In addition, there was also a request to provide the Avusa IT department with a centralised management console within the shortest possible timeframe. Based on business and technical consulting with Avusas management within the companys IT department, security experts at Integr8 IT proposed the integration and implementation of Sophos AV.

THE OUTCOME
Robert Sussman, joint CEO at Integr8 IT, said the project represented a substantial and significant step forward for Avusa and its strategy to remain steadfast and ahead of competition in the ultra-

competitive and lucrative market that is digital communication. Sophos has a proven track record in the provision of effective antivirus software of the highest quality. This package suited our client, given the high volume of business the company conducts, the level of digital communication that takes place and its current data protection and IT security strategy, says Sussman. Avusa now has the benefit of being connected 24/7/365 to the Integr8 IT Nerve Centre, as well as the ability to extend its own direction, its own expertise and own management style via a centralised management console to oversee the demands for optimal digital security. Sergio Barata, IT Infrastructure Manager at Avusa, said, Integr8 IT is a highly reputable and established provider of information and managed communication services. We are very pleased with the delivery of this project. Most importantly Avusa is very happy with the level of dedication and service delivery excellence that we continue to receive from Integr8 IT. Both companies have committed to an on-going service level agreement and support partnership.
