a) Mr Jones deposited $40000 in a bank and earned simple interest at 7 % per annum for two years. i. ii. Calculate the amount he will receive at the end of the two-year period. How long will it take for the $40000 to increase to $ $49800?

b) The cash price of a bicycle is $429. It can be bought on hire purchase by making a deposit of $ 74 and 12 monthly instalments of $ 33.50. EACH. i. ii. iii. What is the TOTAL hire purchase price?
