Format
The source material for all quotations and paraphrases should be given as a parenthetical citation in the text, including an abbreviated title and page numbers or passage numbers. For example:
"The Master said: 'Exemplary persons seek harmony not sameness; petty persons, then, are the opposite"'(A, 13.23).

Using punctuation
Avoid the comma-splice error, in which a comma joins two complete sentences.

Use a colon before lists, or to join a complete sentence to a phrase or phrases that expand on the sentence's main idea. For example: The Daodejing coverc themes of enduring human concern: the meaning of life, the origin of the universe, and the foundation for a peaceful society.

Do not use apostrophes to shorten words (as in "can't"). Do not use unnecessary abbreviations in the body of your text (for example, "etc."). DO NOT use internet slang ("lol") or emoticons!
