Role: Charity Swim Volunteer - The Hope Foundation What's Involved? The Hope Foundation are looking for volunteers to take part in a fundraising charity swim in aid of The Hope Foundation called 'Santa Splash'. We are recruiting Volunteers to stage their own Santa Splash in their own local area/beach/pool and raise funds via sponsorship cards for street and slum children in Kolkata. Where: Nationwide When: Christmas Role: Events Volunteer - Dublin Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgendered Queer Pride Ltd What's Involved? We are looking for smart and enthusiastic team members to work with the events team at Dublin Pride Festival. The events core teams are responsible for assisting the events director in creating amazing events during Dublin Pride Festival 2013 (21st - 30th June 2013) as well as creating and implementing productive fundraising events throughout the whole year starting in January 2013. Where: Dublin 1, Capel St, Outhouse. When: Starting in January 2013 Role: Bag-Packing Volunteer - Value Added In Africa What's Involved? Call to Volunteers: VAA Annual Festive Bag-Pack! This is a bag-packing fundraising activity with VAA staff and other volunteers. Shifts are 2 hours long & can be taken anytime from 10am-6pm. Where Dublin 18, Deansgrange Supervalu When: 1st and 2nd of December Role: ISPCC Volunteer (specialising in Childline) Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) What's Involved? Answer calls to provide an empowering listening and support service to children. *To be non judgmental and non directive in approach to how children are presenting. *Pass initial recruitment and selection criteria and take part in an 8 week training course (2 evenings per week). *To engage in a warm way with children and young people around based around a huge variety of presentations *The Childline Phone training course starts on Monday 21st January 2013 and will run for a period of 8 weeks, taking place two evenings per week. Where: Dublin 2 When: 4 hours per week and minimum of one year commitment Role: ISPCC Volunteer (specialising in Childline Online) - Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) What's Involved: Listen and engage with young via text conversations, one to one online chat and online messages via the www.childline.ie website. *Engaging in a non judgemental way with children and young people. Supporting young people through a variety of mediums. *Check out our Childline website to get more of a feel for how we engage with children and young people *The Childline Online training course starts on Saturday 19th January 2013 and will run for a period of 8 weeks, taking place every Saturday (10am-4:30pm).
